A 21-year-old man was shot and killed inside a home in Christ Church, Barbados, early Monday, prompting a police investigation.

The victim has been identified as Cammeron Ifill of Pasture Road, Bank Hall, St Michael.

According to preliminary investigations, Ifill was inside a bedroom at a residence in Byrons Lane, Gall Hill, shortly after midnight when a gunman approached the property and opened fire. He was struck multiple times and died at the scene.

Police from Oistins Station responded to reports of the shooting at around 12:15 am.

A medical doctor later pronounced Ifill dead.

Investigators have not released any information on a possible motive or suspect, and inquiries into the killing are ongoing.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the shooting or has information that could assist the investigation to contact the Oistins Police Station, Police Emergency at 211, or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
