Damian ‘Jr Gong’ Marley, Skillibeng featured on Barack Obama’s 2026 summer playlist
Jamaican reggae and dancehall stars Damian “Jr Gong” Marley and Skillibeng have earned spots on former US President Barack Obama’s 2026 Summer Playlist.

Released on July 30, the annual playlist features more than 40 artists spanning a range of genres, including rock, R&B, pop, reggaeton, soul, dancehall and reggae.

Marley was selected for his 2005 hit “Road to Zion,” a collaboration with American rapper Nas from his Grammy Award-winning album Welcome to Jamrock.

It marks the second time a collaboration between Marley and Nas has been included on one of Obama’s summer playlists

. In 2016, Obama featured their 2010 track “As We Enter” from the duo’s collaborative album Distant Relatives.

Meanwhile, Skillibeng made the playlist with “Jump,” his 2024 collaboration with South African singer Tyla and American rapper Gunna.

Obama has published his annual summer playlists since leaving office in 2016, often highlighting a mix of established acts, emerging talent and music from around the world.
