A 59-year-old man is recovering in hospital after being shot twice at the Yida Special Economic Zone at Crabbs Peninsula in Antigua on Sunday.

The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda said Zhang Yida was shot at about 4:15 p.m. on August 9.

He was taken to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre and treated for two gunshot wounds to his upper body. Police said he remains hospitalised in stable condition.

Officers from the Parham Police Station and other departments responded to the incident and launched an investigation.

Police are appealing to anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or 462-3914, the Parham Police Station at 463-2060 or Crime Stoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).
