A man who was shot multiple times in Antigua last month has died from his injuries, prompting police to launch a murder investigation.
Omari Philip, 39, of Swetes, was pronounced dead at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre at approximately 3:40 am on August 14, nearly a month after he was wounded in a shooting along All Saints Road.
Philip was reportedly shot shortly after 9 pm on July 14.
Police said investigations revealed that two armed suspects, reportedly dressed in dark clothing, exited a white Toyota Axio and opened fire on him before fleeing the scene.
He was taken to hospital following the attack, where he remained under medical care until his death.
Police are now treating the matter as a homicide and are appealing to anyone who witnessed the shooting or saw a white Toyota Axio in the area at the time to come forward.
A cash reward is being offered for information that assists investigators in identifying and apprehending those responsible.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or 462-3914, or Crime Stoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).
