The University of The Bahamas is mourning the death of a student-athlete who was found unresponsive in a university dormitory on August 31.

The university did not identify the student in the statement announcing the incident but said initial CPR was administered and emergency personnel responded to the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated by the relevant authorities.

Grief counselling and support services are being arranged for members of the university community affected by the student’s death.
