PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad and Tobago — Trinidad and Tobago international Roald Mitchell has joined Danish Superliga side Viborg FF on loan from Major League Soccer club Red Bull New York until June 30, 2027.
The 23-year-old forward has spent the past three seasons with Red Bull New York, making six appearances for the first team since making his MLS debut against Nashville SC on February 24, 2024.
Mitchell has been more prolific for Red Bull New York II, scoring 23 goals and providing seven assists in 39 appearances. His 23 goals rank third in the club’s history.
In 2025, Mitchell scored nine goals in 15 MLS NEXT Pro appearances, including five during Red Bull New York II’s MLS NEXT Pro Cup-winning campaign.
His five postseason goals were the most scored by a player during a single MLS NEXT Pro playoff run. Mitchell also scored twice in Red Bull New York II’s 2-1 Eastern Conference Final victory over Philadelphia Union II on November 1, 2025.
Red Bull New York Head of Sport Julian de Guzman said the move will provide Mitchell with an opportunity to continue his development in a new environment.
“Roald has made significant strides in his development over the past year, and this move presents an excellent opportunity for him to continue that progress in a new environment,” de Guzman said.
“Competing in a highly competitive league will provide valuable experience and help further his growth as a striker.”
Mitchell has also made four appearances for Trinidad and Tobago at senior international level.
He made his international debut in a 1-1 draw against Jamaica on November 14, 2025, coming off the bench to play 23 minutes.
His most recent appearance for the Soca Warriors came in May, when he featured in a friendly against South Korea in Provo, Utah.
Mitchell has also been part of a Trinidad and Tobago Under-20 camp.
