A 31-year-old woman has been arrested after she allegedly stabbed a man to death during an argument in the Cayman Islands.

According to police, the woman and the victim were engaged in a heated argument along Prospect Drive, George Town, shortly after 9:30 pm on Saturday, September 18, when she attacked him with a knife, inflicting several wounds.

Police and other emergency services were dispatched to the scene by the 911 Communications Centre following a report of a stabbing.

People at the location attempted life-saving measures until the arrival of Emergency Medical Services (EMS), who continued efforts to save the man.

He was transported by ambulance to Anthony S. Eden Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead by the attending doctor.

The woman, who is from East End, was arrested by police at the scene.

She remains in custody as investigations continue.
