Arrest

A 42-year-old man has been charged in connection with a fatal stabbing in George Town, Cayman Islands.

According to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service, the accused, a resident of West Bay, surrendered to officers shortly after the incident on February 13.

Police said the man has been formally charged with murder, wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon. 

He remains in custody and was expected to appear before the court on February 16.

Authorities identified the victim as Jahmoll Davonte Watson, 20.

Police reported that Watson was involved in an altercation at the intersection of Mary Street and McField Lane around 4 am on February 13. 

He and another man were taken to hospital with stab wounds. 

Watson later died while receiving treatment.

Investigators also arrested two men, ages 19 and 24, and two women, ages 24 and 25, all from George Town, on suspicion of murder and affray in connection with the incident. 

They were later granted bail pending further investigations.
