Gospel music lovers have a new event to enjoy, as Dominica has added a faith-based festival to the country’s cultural calendar with the launch of the National Gospel Festival, Glory in Paradise.

The Ministry of Tourism and the Discover Dominica Authority officially unveiled the inaugural festival on January 7, announcing it will take place on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium, starting at 5 pm.

The announcement was made during a press conference in Roseau, where organisers described Glory in Paradise as a national gathering centred on worship, music and community, while also strengthening Dominica’s events calendar and supporting tourism development.

Positioned as both a spiritual and cultural experience, the festival will feature a mix of international, regional and local gospel artistes and is expected to attract residents, visitors and members of the Dominican diaspora. Organisers say the initiative responds to growing interest in faith-based experiences, while providing space for unity, reflection and collective participation.

Minister for Tourism Denise Charles-Pemberton said the festival aligns with the government’s wider approach to national development through events.

“Glory in Paradise reflects our belief that national events should strengthen unity, provide positive spaces for reflection and contribute to social and economic development,” Charles-Pemberton said. “Through the Discover Dominica Authority, the Government is proud to support an initiative that brings people together while enriching our national events calendar.”

Chief Executive Officer and Director of Tourism at the Discover Dominica Authority, Marva Williams, said the festival is being planned with the same level of focus as the country’s major signature events.

“Glory in Paradise is being given the same level of strategic focus, operational planning and promotional support that we apply to the World Creole Music Festival,” Williams said. “From production to partnerships, this event is being treated with equal importance and professionalism.”

Admission to the festival will be by voluntary contribution at the gates.

Organisers say patrons can expect an evening of prayer, praise and fellowship, with prayers offered for families, youth, peace, national development and environmental protection.

The programme will also create opportunities for Christian youth and local artistes to share the stage with regional and international performers, supporting artistic growth, exposure and collaboration.

The local line-up includes DJ Alfie, J-Cro (Calvin Deravariere), Champion in God, Mickael Ferrol, Angel Joseph, Sanctified, Nyel Grove, Vessels of Honour, Jerry Lloyd, Loubiere Catholic Youth Choir, Henrietta Matthew, Angel Anthony, Lieselle and Lamar Jervier, Qadosh (dance), Expressions of Him Speech Chorale and TGFG Youth Singers.

Regional performers include Jamaica’s Carlene Davis, along with Positive and Blessed Messenger from Trinidad and Tobago. International gospel artistes scheduled to perform are Sinach and Ada Ehi of Nigeria, and Travis Greene of the United States.

The Ministry of Tourism and the Discover Dominica Authority thanked faith leaders, community activists and partners for their role in shaping the festival, noting that continued collaboration across public, private and faith-based sectors will be key to its success.

Further details are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
