Fourteen artistes have been selected to compete in the final of Grenada’s Independence Song Competition.

Reigning monarch Jermaine Simon, known as Super Star, will be seeking to defend his title against a diverse field of finalists whose songs celebrate national pride, culture and identity.

The finalists and their songs are:

Akada Lewis (Akada) – Come for Me
Andrew Phillip (Hitz) – 52 Years Old
Anthony Ettienne – Grenada Michael Jackson Mandatory
Burgess McPhie and Cheryl Vincent (Quako & Cheryl V) – I Love You Still
Edison Francis (Teacher Eddy) – Fly Grenada Fly
Glendon Joseph (I Am G) – My Testimony
Jason Joseph (Big J) – Keep We Flag Flying
Jerry Baptiste (Papa Jerry) – Grenada Nice
Ken Joseph (KJ) – Connection
Ryan De Riggs (Riggy Atmosphere) – Nutmeg Prayer
Samantha Dickson (Royalty) – Sweet Grenada
Sean Niles (Sour Serpent) – D.N.A
Shamak Duncan (Shamak) – Sweet Grenada
Sherrine Francis (Sherrine) – The Toast

The final is set for January 31, at the Sauteurs Bus Terminal.

The show begins at 8:00 pm.
