Gun violence has claimed two more lives in St Vincent and the Grenadines, pushing the country’s murder toll to five.

In the first incident, police reported that Kevin Richards was shot and killed in Montaque, Mesopotamia, shortly before 11 pm on February 6.

Officers said that when they arrived at the scene, they were informed that Richards, a 25-year-old maintenance worker from the area, had already been transported to the Levi Latham Health Centre for treatment.

Richards was treated for multiple gunshot wounds but was later pronounced dead.

In a separate incident on February 7, 2026, Lenford Peters was walking along the Diamond/Brighton public road about 7:20pm when he was reportedly approached by a masked assailant who shot him multiple times.

Police said that when officers responded, Peters was found lying motionless.

Peters, a 43-year-old labourer from Richland Park, was later pronounced dead by the district medical officer.

Police are appealing to members of the public to assist with their investigations into both murders.
