Terri Lyons

Terri Lyons captured the 2026 National Calypso Monarch title after delivering a commanding performance of her song Blessings at Dimanche Gras, overcoming a night marked by technical issues and controversy.

Lyons secured the crown ahead of 12 finalists, each showcasing the continued growth and relevance of the calypso artform in Trinidad and Tobago. The victory marks her second National Calypso Monarch title, following her first win in 2020.

She comes from one of the country’s most celebrated musical families. Lyons is the daughter of seven-time Soca Monarch Super Blue and the sister of Fay-Ann Lyons. Over the years, she has also established herself regionally, earning multiple titles in the Queen of Queens competition.

Finishing in second place was Rivaldo London with his performance of Water Thicker, while Rikki Jai, whose real name is Samraj Jaimungal, secured third place with Doh Spoil Meh Name.

The remaining placements were:

4th – Ahkenaton Lewis – “The Messenger”
5th – Karene Asche – “Nobody Wins Until”
6th – Helon Francis – “Doh Forget”
7th – Nicole Thomas-Clarke – “Sacrifice”
8th – Ta’Zyah O’Connor – “Cast Them Away”
9th – Giselle Fraser – “No Village Can’t”
10th – Muhammad Muwakil – “Calypso”
11th – Kerice Pascall – “No Conscience”
12th – Roslyn Reid-Hayes – “Calypso Calling Me”

For her victory, Lyons walked away with $1,000,000 and a vehicle prize. Rivaldo London earned $500,000 for his 2nd place finish, while Rikki Jai received $350,000 for placing 3rd.
