St Lucia has crowned a new Calypso Monarch after Ready delivered two standout performances to capture the island’s top calypso title last evening.
Representing the Fire One Calypso Tent, Ready impressed judges with “Sign Up” in the opening round before returning with “Micoud” in the second round to secure the 2026 Calypso Monarch crown.
Finishing in second place was Gumtion of the South Calypso Tent, who performed “Black Man” in the first round and “Creole Therapy” in the second.
TC Brown, representing the Kaiso Pros Tent, claimed third place with performances of “Jodi Pa Ye” in round one and “English Teacher” in round two.
A total of nine calypsonians competed in the finals. Joining the top three were John Gotti, The Educator, Menell, Herb Black, Walleigh and Lushanne.
