President of Cricket West Indies Dr Kishore Shallow has congratulated captain Shai Hope and the West Indies team for what he described as a commendable campaign at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

In a statement issued following the team’s exit, Shallow expressed disappointment that the regional side’s journey ended at Eden Gardens in Kolkata against hosts India.

However, he said the overall tournament reflected growth, belief and togetherness within the squad.

“Winning five of seven matches and advancing to the Super 8s is a testament to the preparation and commitment of this group,” Shallow stated.

He added that the spirit of resolve and fight shown throughout the competition was particularly encouraging, noting that it was needed more than ever.

According to the CWI President, that determination and pride in representing the region strengthened confidence across the Caribbean and highlighted the character of West Indies cricket.

Shallow also expressed appreciation for the dedication of the backroom staff led by Head Coach Daren Sammy, saying their collective effort had laid a strong foundation for the work ahead.

“We will regroup, we will work, and we will compete again with even greater unity and purpose,” he said, ending his message with a call to “Rally Round the West Indies, now and forever.”
