Three people have been killed and another injured in a shooting at a popular beach bar in Barbados.

According to reports, the victims were at Thunder Bay Beach Bar in St James around 8:50 pm on April 19 when an assailant opened fire, shooting them multiple times.

One man died at the scene, while two others later succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment at hospital.

A fourth man was also injured and taken to hospital, where he remains under medical care.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released, and police have also not disclosed a motive for the attack.

Speaking with reporters at the scene, Senior Superintendent of Police Woodroffe appealed to members of the public to assist with the investigation.

The country’s murder toll for the year has now risen to 23.
