Trinidad and Tobago will be represented by 38 athletes across six sports at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
The Commonwealth Sport Committee of Trinidad and Tobago unveiled the team yesterday ahead of the Games, which will take place in Glasgow, Scotland, from July 23 to August 2.
The country’s largest contingent will compete in athletics, which includes: Leah Bertrand (women’s 100m and women’s 4x100m relay), Reese Webster (women’s 100m and women’s 4x100m relay), Michelle-Lee Ahye (women’s 100m, women’s 200m and women’s 4x100m relay), Shaniqua Bascombe (women’s 100m and women’s 4x100m relay), Janae De Gannes (women’s 200m and women’s 4x100m relay), Tyra Gittens-Spotsville (women’s long jump), Omari Lewis (men’s 100m), Eric Harrison Jr. (men’s 100m), Jaden Marchan (men’s 400m), Nathan Cumberbatch (men’s 400m and men’s 800m), Jereem Richards (men’s 400m), Keshorn Walcott (men’s javelin throw), Kelsey Daniel (men’s triple jump), and Akeem Stewart (men’s discus throw – F42-44/F61-64) in para athletics.
In boxing, Anthony Joseph (men’s 60kg), Jeremiah Thomas (men’s 80kg) and Nigel Paul (men’s +90kg) have been selected.
The judo team comprises Jelanie Boyce (men’s -73kg) and Gabriella Wood (women’s +78kg).
Trinidad and Tobago‘s track cycling team features Nicholas Paul (men’s keirin, men’s sprint and men’s team sprint), Njisane Phillip (men’s keirin, men’s sprint and men’s team sprint), Zion Pulido (men’s sprint and men’s team sprint), and Jadian Neaves (men’s 10km scratch race, men’s 4,000m individual pursuit, men’s 40km points race and men’s elimination race).
A 12-member netball squad will compete at the Games, featuring Janeisha Cassimy, Joelisa Cooper, Nichola Gill, Makayla Grant, Demisha Henry, Aneisha Hyles, Shian Lewis, Adannaya Martin, Jeresia Mc Eachrane, Shaniya Morgan, Afeisha Noel, and Ebony Williams.
Trinidad and Tobago will also be represented in artistic gymnastics by Chane Cumbermack and Dailia Burke, who will compete across multiple apparatus events.
The delegation will be led by Chef de Mission Chanelle Young, supported by Deputy Chef de Mission Rhonda Clarke, Chief Medical Officer Dr Candice Williams, physiotherapist Dr Karielle De Bique, massage therapists Nicole Fuentes-Charles, Kellee Spicer and Derek Ashby-Williams, Press Attaché Melanie Gulston, and Administrative Personnel Tyrique Lambert.
