Barbadian superstar Rihanna is set to grace the cover of the September 2026 edition of Elle magazine in the United States, appearing as the face and inspiration behind Dior’s J’adore Intense fragrance.

The “Umbrella” singer features on the cover wearing Dior, including a Dior Men’s headpiece, a Dior High Jewelry ring and a custom shawl.

Rihanna is photographed by Dutch-American duo Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, with Jahleel Weaver serving as stylist.

In an August 12 article titled “Rihanna Will Always Be the Ultimate Muse,” Elle writer Roxane Gay described the mom of three as more than a traditional superstar.

“Rihanna has become something rarer than a superstar: a full sensory experience,” Gay wrote.

She noted that Dior perfume creation director Francis Kurkdjian created the new fragrance as an ode to Rihanna, inspired by “an image of an unfettered, liberated young woman, who dares to embrace the world with clarity and genius.”

The cover marks Rihanna’s second appearance on the cover of Elle USA. Her first came with the October 2017 issue.

The Fenty Beauty founder has also appeared on at least four magazine covers this year, including the April edition of W Magazine, where she appeared alongside her daughter, Rocki Irish.

Rihanna’s relationship with Dior dates back to 2015, when she became an ambassador for the French fashion house, making history as its first Black ambassador.
