The National Commercial Bank of Anguilla (NCBA) has appointed banking executive Christine Rochester as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Rochester brings more than 25 years of experience in banking and finance across the Caribbean and the United States. She has relocated to Anguilla to take up the position and will lead the bank as it enters what NCBA describes as its next phase of growth and transformation.
Before joining NCBA, Rochester served as Managing Director, Investments & Client Engagement at the Minority Business Accelerator in Cincinnati, where she managed a private equity investment portfolio and structured funding solutions for middle-market companies across six US states.
She previously served as a Fractional Chief Financial Officer for a healthcare business, helping to improve its financial performance and operational efficiency.
Her banking career also includes a stint as Vice President of Commercial Banking at JPMorgan Chase, where she provided financial solutions to corporate, public sector and nonprofit clients.
In Jamaica, Rochester spent five years as General Manager of Corporate and Commercial Banking at JMMB Bank. She led growth in the bank’s corporate loan portfolio and was involved in launching its Business Banking segment.
She began her banking career with Scotiabank Jamaica and RBC Jamaica, now Sagicor Bank Jamaica, where she gained experience in commercial banking, credit, relationship management and leadership.
Rochester holds a Master of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor of Science in Finance, with a minor in Human Resource Management, from Northern Caribbean University.
She has completed all sections of the CPA examination and has undertaken advanced training in banking, credit, leadership and treasury management. She has also served on several boards and works part-time as a mergers and acquisitions instructor.
Rochester said she is looking forward to working with NCBA’s board, management team, staff, customers and other stakeholders to strengthen the bank’s customer focus and support Anguilla’s economic development.
NCBA Board Chairperson Sharmaine Vaughan welcomed the appointment, saying Rochester’s experience in regional and international financial markets would be valuable as the bank moves forward.
“Her extensive banking and financial services experience, strategic leadership capabilities and proven track record of delivering results across both regional and international markets will be valuable as NCBA enters its next phase of growth and transformation,” Vaughan said.
The board also expressed its appreciation to Jerrick Evangelista, who served as interim CEO for approximately 10 months before Rochester’s appointment.
NCBA said Evangelista provided continuity and stability to the bank during the leadership transition.
