Two men have appeared in court charged with the murders of Richard Mc David and Anslem Nicholas, who died following an alleged altercation in Fyzabad on August 21.

Victor Delwyn, a business owner, and Shandon Woodley, a soldier attached to the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force, both of Fyzabad, appeared before Master Ambrose Persadsingh in the South Criminal Court on September 11.

The matter was adjourned to October 30.

Police said Mc David and Nicholas were allegedly involved in an altercation with a group of men in the Fyzabad district on August 21, during which both men were injured.

They were taken to the Siparia Health Facility for medical attention, where they died.

Two male suspects were arrested in connection with the matter on September 9.

The investigation was supervised by Superintendent Steve Persad and Inspector Teeluck, with assistance from officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region Three.

Delwyn and Woodley were charged by Corporal Griffith of HBI Region Three on September 10, following advice from Acting Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Anju Bhola on the same day.
