SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic — Anti-narcotics agents in the Dominican Republic have intercepted a suspected drug shipment destined for Belgium on October 8.
The National Directorate of Drug Control (DNCD) said a powdery substance, presumed to be cocaine, was seized during an inspection at an international shipping company in the National District of Santo Domingo.
The substance was discovered concealed in polo shirts, the DNCD said.
According to information recorded in the shipping manifest, the package was sent by a man whose alleged address was on Enrique Jiménez Moya Avenue in the National District. It was listed for delivery to an individual on Joseph Pavez Street in the municipality of Anderlecht, Brussels, Belgium.
Investigations into the incident are continuing.
