Two additional men are expected to be charged with the murder of acting Municipal Police Corporal Anushka Eversley, as investigators widen the case surrounding her killing and the theft of firearms from the San Fernando Municipal Police Headquarters.

In an audio statement on April 24, Police Commissioner Allister Guevarro said a 24-year-old scrap iron dealer and a 20-year-old construction worker, both from Claxton Bay, will be jointly charged alongside a 28-year-old municipal police officer already in custody.

The update came just two days after Guevarro announced that the municipal police officer was to be charged. 

All three are expected to face charges of murder, robbery with violence, firearm trafficking and possession of ammunition, following consultations with Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard.

“These charges arise out of coordinated enquiries and recovery operations conducted over the past several days, during which 44 firearms, large quantities of ammunition, and multiple magazines were recovered at various locations across Claxton Bay, Gasparillo, Macaulay, and surrounding areas,” the top cop said. 

Guevarro said the municipal police officer remains the only law enforcement officer charged so far, while the two others are civilians.

The three men are expected to appear before a master of the High Court.

No date for their appearance was given by the commissioner.
