Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten is set to visit The Netherlands’ Caribbean territories from May 8 to 14, marking his first official trip to the region since taking office.
The visit will take him to Sint Maarten, Saba, Sint Eustatius, Bonaire, Aruba and Curaçao, and comes at the start of the new cabinet’s term.
In Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten, Jetten is expected to hold talks with prime ministers, governors and members of parliament, with discussions set to focus on key issues including resilience, security and sustainability.
His engagements in Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba will centre on meetings with lieutenant governors and island councils, as similar priorities are addressed across the territories.
Beyond official meetings, the visit will also include engagements with residents, entrepreneurs and civil society organisations, offering the prime minister a broader, on-the-ground perspective during his time in the region.
