The Guyana Amazon Warriors have announced a star-studded overseas lineup for the 2026 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) as the franchise looks to build on its strong showing last season.

The Warriors have recruited South Africans Imran Tahir and Dwaine Pretorius, New Zealand batter Glenn Phillips, and Afghanistan internationals Mohammad Nabi and Rahmanullah Gurbaz for the upcoming tournament.

The five-player contingent brings a mix of international experience and proven T20 success, strengthening the Warriors’ batting, bowling and all-round options ahead of the new campaign.

Veteran leg-spinner Tahir returns with one of the most decorated records in franchise cricket and is expected to spearhead the team’s spin attack, while Phillips adds explosive firepower to the batting lineup and athleticism in the field.

Afghanistan captain Nabi will provide experience as an all-rounder with both bat and ball, while wicketkeeper-batter Gurbaz is expected to bolster the top order with his aggressive approach during the powerplay.

Pretorius completes the overseas group, offering pace-bowling options with the new ball and at the death, along with valuable lower-order runs.

The overseas contingent will join a strong regional core led by Guyana captain Shimron Hetmyer and West Indies wicketkeeper-batter Shai Hope, giving the Warriors a balanced squad as they chase the CPL title in 2026.
