ST GEORGE’S, Grenada — Grenada will be represented by eight young athletes at the 8th CARIFTA Triathlon, Aquathlon and Mixed Team Relay Championships in Bermuda from October 22–26.
Triathlon Grenada announced its national team as the country looks to build on its performance at last year’s championships in Tobago, where it won two gold medals, one silver and one bronze.
The 2026 team features athletes with backgrounds in swimming, athletics and multisport competition, including several who have represented Grenada at regional and international events.
The team includes Eithan Chu Fook, Ethan William Clermont, Mateo Thomas, Carvon James, Payton De Freitas, Eliza-Rose Benjamin, Kaleb Williams and Tyrese Braveboy.
Chu Fook, competing in the 13–14 age group, is among Grenada’s most experienced junior multisport athletes. He has represented the country at OECS Swimming, Goodwill, CARIFTA Aquatics and Aquathlon, CARIFTA Aquatics 2026 and the 2026 PANAM Aquatics Championships.
Clermont and Thomas, both competing in the 11–12 age group, bring swimming experience to the team. Clermont has represented Grenada at OECS Swimming and Goodwill Swimming Championships, while Thomas has competed at both events and made his CARIFTA Triathlon debut in Trinidad and Tobago in 2025.
James, competing in the 15–16 age group, brings an athletics background and experience in triathlon.
He has represented Grenada at School Athletics Nationals, Rainbow Cup Tobago and the CARIFTA Triathlon and Aquathlon Championships in Barbados and Tobago.
De Freitas, in the 13–14 age group, will make her CARIFTA Triathlon and Aquathlon debut in Bermuda after representing Grenada at the 2026 Goodwill Swimming Championships.
Benjamin, who competes in the 15–16 age group, has experience in both track and field and swimming. She has competed at the Whitsuntide Games, Intercol and OECS Swimming and represented Grenada at CARIFTA Aquatics in The Bahamas in 2024.
Williams, competing in the 17–21 age group, has represented Grenada in swimming and athletics and will make his CARIFTA Triathlon and Aquathlon debut in Bermuda.
Braveboy, in the 13–14 age group, also has a background in athletics and swimming and will make his first appearance at the CARIFTA Triathlon and Aquathlon Championships.
Coach Troy Felix will lead the team, bringing experience in cycling and triathlon at regional and international events. He holds Level 2 certifications in both disciplines and has represented Grenada in cycling and triathlon, while also previously winning national championships in both.
Triathlon Grenada President Nicola Mulholland will serve as team manager. She holds a World Triathlon Certificate in Coaching Female Triathletes and will manage her fifth CARIFTA delegation.
